Central Park, Darlington
One NorthEast is working in partnership with Tees Valley Regeneration, English Partnerships and Darlington Borough Council to secure the future redevelopment of 75 acres of underused land, bordering the east coast main rail line, close to Darlington town centre.
A detailed masterplanning exercise led by Gillespies with input from Donaldsons Property Consultants and PriceWaterhouseCoopers has identified demand and zoned areas of the site for residential development, hotel and conference facilities, a range of commercial properties and a day nursery within a landscaped setting.
The potential of the site has been recognised already by Darlington College, which is in the process of relocating to the Northern part of Central Park and opening new, bespoke facilities in Summer 2006.
One NorthEast has acquired a landholding within Central Park and continues to work with Tees Valley Regeneration in acquiring a number of properties at the southern end of the development area.
