Seaham Colliery

Following the success of East Shore Village as a brownfield development opportunity for new housing in Seaham, One NorthEast has completed the reclamation and servicing of the former Seaham Colliery, funded through the National Coalfield Programme. 

Regional architects Browne Smith Baker have produced a detailed masterplan for the site in order to assist and guide potential developers in formulating structured schemes to incorporate current best practice in layout, design, construction and energy efficiency.  The site will accommodate around 400 new homes with potential for ancillary commercial uses and will form the second major step in ensuring that Seaham has an adequate supply of modern, high quality houses.
