One NorthEast’s European secretariat is the first point of contact for information and help, especially with regard to:

• basic eligibility
• advice on technical appraisal
• advice on compliance with EU regulatory requirements.

The secretariat's responsibilities also include governance end external liaison with regional and national partners, central Government, the European Commission and the Programme Monitoring Committee (PMC).  It also takes responsibility for technical appraisal and compliance with EU communications requirements.
