Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act became law on 30 November 2000, and came into force in January 2005.  It enables anyone to request access to any recorded information held by the Agency, or held on its behalf. The Agency has a statutory duty to disclose such information unless it falls within a statutory exemption.

A Request for Information can also include anything held on our behalf by a supplier or in an archive. To be a classed as a “freedom of information request” it must be made in writing (either by email, enquiry form, fax or letter) and must state clearly the recorded information required. We must have appropriate contact details for the applicant. Any response will be given within a maximum of 20 working days, provided all of the required details are given and the information can be disclosed.

We will endeavour to publish as much information as possible about One North East (its structure, committees, minutes etc.) on this website so please check the Publication Scheme first to make sure your required information is not already published.

The main Freedom of Information Enquiry Form is available by clicking here

The Publication Scheme gives a record of the information we hold, and where we hold it, and guidance regarding the Freedom of Information Act is also available.
