Newcastle Science City

Newcastle Science City will be a growth hub for world-class innovation and will contribute towards the efforts to restructure the region’s economy on a new science and technology foundation. It will generate a critical mass of activity by aligning policies and programmes.

A city centre complex will be created, providing an environment for a rapid acceleration in the commercialisation of scientific and technological research. This will form part of a total system that will include inter-related research activities, science education and engaging the public in a greater awareness of the benefits science can bring. It will also involve developing associated facilities elsewhere in the region.
